Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic services are the cornerstone of our practice. Recognizing that every person and every mouth is different, we will evaluate your individual situation to determine the best course of treatment. We will then discuss options with you to discover what procedures make the most sense for you. All consultations include a smile analysis. We analyze your smile so you can see the possibilities available to you and which ones meet your goals.

Dr. Melvin Pierson has had extensive training in numerous cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Pierson and his team will sit with you and show you examples of his work. You and Dr. Pierson will review photos of your smile and he will ask you questions and listen to your input. Together, you will identify what your goals are for a new and improved smile.

We offer the following cosmetic services:

Implant Restorations
After a specialist places the implant, Dr. Pierson will create custom natural-looking restorations. These will match the rest of your teeth, function just like the originals, and be impossible for anyone to detect as manufactured.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

describe the image

For years,  silver-mercury amalgam was the standard filling material used in dental practices. While they are a reasonable restoration, amalgams have certain shortcomings.

However the biggest reason many of our patients choose the white bonded fillings has to do with the way they look. Most people don’t want a dark filling advertising its presence. We offer modern, state-of-the-art restorations that are  natural-looking, contain no metals, and can actually strengthen your teeth. They also bond very tightly with the healthy part of the tooth, so there is much less chance of decay in the future.

Whitening—in-office or at home
The Zoom! Advanced Power™ whitening system gives dazzling white teeth in about an hour. This is the same whitening technique you’ve seen on the TV reality show Extreme Makeover.

At-home whitening systems offer affordable, flexible alternatives to fit your lifestyle.

Bonding
Bonding applies a thin plastic coating to your teeth to fill gaps, mask discolorations, or reshape teeth.

All-Porcelain Crowns
Teeth that are broken, worn, or otherwise misshapen or damaged are often topped with crowns, restoring their shape and function. All-porcelain crowns, as opposed to metal or porcelain-metal hybrids, offer the most pleasing, natural-looking appearance.

Porcelain Veneers

Patients with misshapen teeth, unsightly gaps, or deep discolorations might want to consider porcelain veneers. These natural-looking, thin coverings fit over and are bonded to teeth.
