Migraine Headaches

The NTI Tension Suppression System is a dental appliance that we use for the treatment of tension headaches, migraines, and painful problems with the jaw joints. It's worn securely over the upper or lower front teeth while your sleep, or at other times when you find yourself clenching your teeth.

Medical research has shown that intense, prolonged jaw clenching during sleep is the dominant factor in the cause and perpetuation of these chewing problems. When the chewing muscles have been constantly and intensely contracting, the nerves that serve those muscles become hypersensitive.

This intense activity of muscles and nerves can often set off migraines and chronic tension headaches.

Clenching can also lead to pain and soreness in your chewing muscles, stiffness in your jaw and neck, and damage to your teeth.
