Melvin Pierson, DDS, FAGD, FADI

Education and community are two constants in Dr. Pierson's life. He enjoys teaching the dentists of tomorrow as much as he enjoys keeping his own knowledge current. He belongs to several professional organizations and is active in organized dentistry. Dr. Pierson participates in community health dental screenings and has offered advice on radio and TV talk show programs, including NBC10, and CN8 thus enhancing the dental IQ of our entire community.

Dr. Pierson received his BS from Dillard University in New Orleans and his DDS from Howard University in Washington, DC. He remains a student of dentistry and is currently pursuing his master credential with the Academy of General Dentistry.

He has held positions with the Academy of General Dentistry, including editor for the New Jersey Journal, President of the New Jersey Academy (2006), and member of the board of directors. In 2004, he received the William W. Howard ACE Award of Merit as editor for the New Jersey Journal and currently is the Marketing Chairperson for the Academy of General Dentistry.

Because the health of his community is important, Dr. Pierson has participated in dental screenings at schools, health fairs, and churches.
